KAI CLUB WEEKDAY ACTIVITIES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2023 – 24 (Weekday programs: 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm)

Martial Arts

Founded by 2 leading martial artists, The Dojo combines the rich traditions of Japanese martial arts with modern functional training. The primary aim of The Dojo is to bring the benefits of martial arts training to as many children as possible, providing an introduction to traditional art forms while focusing on making learning martial arts a fun and engaging experience. The program aims to help children develop motor skills, coordination, focus, confidence, overall fitness, self-confidence, and emotional skills.

Objectives:

  • Introduction to Traditional Arts
  • Fostering a lifelong interest in physical fitness and enhancing their
    physical abilities.
  • Teach children the importance of focus and concentration, boosting their
    confidence
  • Encourage emotional growth & and promote self-regulation and resilience.

Techniques and Components of Programme:

  • Kyokushin Karate: Introduces children to the fundamentals of Karate, emphasizing disciplined training, proper form, and respect for one’s opponents and instructors.
  • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Teaches the basics of ground fighting, submission holds, and grappling techniques, promoting problem-solving and adaptability in martial arts scenarios.
  • Boxing: Enhances hand-eye coordination, agility, and quick thinking by incorporating boxing techniques into the program.

Holistic Approach: Combines various martial arts styles to provide a well-rounded martial arts experience, helping children develop a wide range of physical and mental skills.

Music

Taaqademy, a premier music school renowned for its commitment to excellence, is delighted to introduce its Early Years Music Program. Founded on a legacy of musical expertise and a passion for nurturing talent, Taaqademy extends its commitment to musical education to even the youngest learners.

Objectives:

  • To introduce young children to the world of music in a fun and engaging manner
  • To Develop a genuine love and appreciation for music in children
  • To lay the foundation for understanding musical concepts such as rhythm, pitch, and melody
  • To familiarise children with various musical instruments, their sounds, and characteristics, helping them explore potential musical interests
  • To encourage imaginative thinking through activities like creating musical instruments and exploring the production of different sounds
  • Promote physical coordination and self-expression through movement exercises synchronized with music
  • Prepare children for small performances, fostering confidence and a sense of achievement

Techniques of the Early Years Music Programme:

  • Song Learning and Rhythm Patterns: Exploring different rhythms, and enhancing their musicality
  • Introduction to Music Instruments: Their unique sounds, and characteristics, aid in future musical choices
  • Musical Concepts through Games: Introducing musical concepts like pitch and rhythm, providing a solid foundation in an enjoyable way
  • Creating simple musical instruments, fostering creativity, and understanding sound production
  • Music and Movement: Promoting physical coordination and self-expression

Clay Modelling

Maya is a passionate potter with a deep love for nature and a knack for creating enchanting clay artworks. She holds a prestigious certification as a Level 1 Trainer from the ART Clay Silver Academy Japan, showcasing her expertise in working with clay.

Objectives & Benefits:

Techniques include pinching, shaping, coil building, slap building, Sculpting, texture & detail work & surface decorations
